Senior Travel Accident Sales Specialist

Tokio Marine HCC MIS Group, a member of the Tokio Marine Group of Companies, has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Travel Accident Sales Specialist in the Indianapolis, IN office.

Key Responsibilities:

Relying on experience and judgment, the Senior Travel Accident Sales Specialist is responsible for accomplishing the following assignments. Frequent travel is required approximately 25%.

  • Responsible for new business through brokers and agents. Particularly focused on Group sales opportunities. .
  • Foster additional business opportunities through writing of correspondence and attending trade shows and conferences
  • Conduct sales calls to cultivate and maintain long-term client relationships.
  • Manage and increase existing blocks of business. Develop a strong relationship with brokers and agents through on-site visits and resolving client issues in a timely fashion.
  • Develop and maintain database of current and prospective producers.
  • Negotiate premium with clients and underwriters to close new and renewal business.
  • Monitor competitor pricing and industry trends to identify marketplace characteristics.
  • Monitor producer quote ratio, close ratio, renewal persistency, and loss ratio. Adapt marketing strategy as needed.
  • Develop and implement specific marketing strategies and materials.
  • Ensure sound working relationships with clients and other company departments by acting as the point of contact.
  • Work closely with Senior Vice President/General Manager and Underwriting Manager on new and existing business decisions. Keep abreast of the industry trends.

Senior Travel Accident Sales Specialist

Position Knowledge, Skills, and Requirements:


  • Bachelor s degree in Business, Marketing, a related field, or the equivalent education and/or experience


  • Minimum of five years of relevant and progressive professional experience


  • Possess and have ability to apply broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills with an emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy
  • Exceptional organizational and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Knowledgeable of industry changes, legal updates, and technical developments related to applicable area of the Company s business to proactively respond to changing business environment
  • Proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office package (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word)
